Filex 2010
The mood was upbeat at the fitness industry’s annual showcase, Filex, held at Sydney’s convention centre.
FFA PaySmart used the occasion to network with existing and potential customers and to showcase our new PTExpress package, featured in this edition.
CEO Ian Jones, who attended, said a hot topic was the emergence of 24/7 fitness centres in Sydney, where members have keycard access and are able to use facilities anytime. “It will be interesting to see how these centres develop,” said Ian. “Industry professionals expressed strong views about security, noting that some centres were unstaffed between 10pm and5am.
”The Copyright Tribunal’s decision on music royalties was also a hot topic with most people optimistic about the industry meeting the challenge.
“The convention was packed everyday and we had a highly successful joint promotion with our industry partner, Advance Fitness Marketing, in the form of an evening cocktail party,” Ian said.“Lots of people enquired about tickets and the event was fully subscribed.
”FFA PaySmart’s display attracted attention and Ian was interviewed about it for a promotional video made by the Filex organisers.
